About the Artist

Shanitra Dunn Washington is a North Carolina–based contemporary artist whose work explores the intersection of faith, beauty, femininity, imagination, and self-expression. A lifelong creative, Shanitra has been painting and selling her artwork since 2013, developing a distinctive visual language that celebrates boldness, elegance, and the art of becoming.

Raised in the charming small town of Eureka, North Carolina, Shanitra’s Southern roots continue to influence her appreciation for beauty, storytelling, and the details that make a space feel personal. Today, she creates from her studio in Greensboro, transforming inspiration into original works designed to evoke emotion, spark conversation, and bring a sense of individuality to the spaces they inhabit.

Her creative practice is influenced by perseverance, nature, feminine energy, and the luxurious details found in everyday life. From expressive figures to imaginative compositions rich in texture and character, each piece is created with the intention of feeling both sophisticated and deeply personal.

Shanitra studied Business Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a background that complements her artistic practice and has shaped her approach to building a creative brand rooted in authenticity, intention, and connection.
